Following is a short biography of the man who had a vision in mind, a vision to secure the future of the children of this noble country by doing his bit. His contribution to the society cannot be measured but can be only felt by the thousands who had the privilege to be in touch with him or the millions who have benefitted from his works to this very day. One of his many endeavours was the establishment of the Adarsh banner in the education sector of the country.

Dr Bhagat Ram Sahgal was born on 1st January 1900, in a family of humble origin, which ran a local cloth shop in Lahore, now in Pakistan, and sold clothes, imported from England. His father Lala Bal Mukand could not persuade Bhagat after he had completed his matriculation, to stay in the family business as he had interest in pursuing further education and become a doctor by profession. His passion to address public gatherings and a desire to do his bit for the nation, at a time when the whole country was fighting to break the shackles of the British Raj was much appreciated by the then, leaders of the freedom struggle. He was sent to countries like South Africa, and even England to spread the message of universal brotherhood and peace to the Indians living abroad.

It was at this juncture that the role of Raja Ram Mohan Roy emerged in the history of India, along with the evolution of the Arya Samaj. Dr Bhagat Ram Sahgal with the support of the local Indians founded the Arya Samaj in East London, U.K., Durban in South Africa and Singapore. So much so, that his statue still remains in the main hall of the office of the Arya Samaj in Singapore and their timely periodicals have his name on the front pages.

Education stands for emancipation, ennoblement, evolution and now-a-days, it also seems to be synonymous with examination, employment and empowerment. In the ever changing world, it is very important to remember that every day that passes by is a day that enables all of you reach slightly closer to the dreams, goals and aspirations you have set for yourself. Success shall come to those who set values with thoughts and wisdom. ‘You must always look at the larger picture of life, for it is there lies the true essence and embodiment that shall carry you through the various challenges you encounter.

APS is committed to inculcate strong moral values, quality gf integrity, honesty, creativity, imagination, perseverance, benevolence, discipline, self-confidence, transparency of thoughts and command over communication skills in all students besides academic excellence.

The single most important thing I want you to remember from today is that the world only gives what you ask for. If you ask for a loaf of bread, it will give you just a loaf! Never have small dreams. The world will only deliver great things, If you ask of it great things. Set your goals high like the eagle that symbolizes strength, soaring, ambition and powerful foresight; though not even the sky should be your limit. Plan and pursue your goals with passion, determination and persistence and you will surely excel.

Message from the Principal

Today’s child is growing in ever increasing, challenging and demanding environment. The rate of change in every sphere is rapid. With the enhanced knowledge exchange and technology development, the world is growing steadily and enormously.

Globalization demands a new dimension to our approach to education. We, thus have to recognize the need for a globally relevant education. Such an education would develop mental agility in individuals to confidently interact & work in diverse situations.

The school curriculum is oriented to bolster the physical, social and cultural needs of the students. A strong requirement today is to simultaneously weave a firm moral fibre in the students’ personality.

The key to this goal is to pursue a value-based education process which acts as a nucleus around the school activities. We are very conscious of the fact that emotional stability plays a very significant role in the healthy growth of a child. One of the important tools to achieve this is through effective and consistent  in communication. This interactive approach also helps in discovering and strengthening inherent talent of the students. All our school activities are based on a participatory spirit that reduces the inhibition level of the students and thus assists them in becoming aware of their potential. The school atmosphere evokes a team spirit amongst the students and teachers with a conviction.

I expect all my students to focus on their cherished goals and strive hard to accomplish them transcending mediocrity and procrastination.
